   im thinking that the best way to see this movie is to go with an open mind,and not even TRY to compare it to the old series. ANY comparison is gonna **** you off otherwise.

   JJ Abrams hasn’t written this film so none of the genuine dialogue,intriguing story/plot twists if any will have nothing to do with him. He’s only producing and directing this film. Besides you can find all of that in the old star trek and the spin offs. As for the acting there have been good actors in star trek before like patrick stewart.

   haha!! i can see this movie being the best star trek movie and still being hated for all eternity by trekkies due to it being a JJ Abrahm film which means it will contain genuine dialogue/intriguing story/plot twists and most importantly actors who didnt train at Kitschville Performing Arts I cant wait!!!

    I just don’t understand why paramount would take control of star trek away from two hacks like berman and braga just to give it to another couple of hacks.

    Betty Jo Trimble {aka: BJo Trimble} was a woman that really saved classic Star Trek. Trimble’s most famous cause was the “Save Star Trek” campaign for the third season of the series to be made rather than cancellation. In which the studio gave into the huge fan write in campaign. But they {the studio} then cut the budget and also Gene L. Coon left the show, too

    no, what sank the orignal series was the fact it was given a timeslot when most people were asleep, and the huge budget cuts they took later on in its production. (source William Shatners, Star Trek Memories)

    i dont understand you critics u want a redisigned s.trek but u crap all oever this one (instead of supporting it) withought even seeing the movie.off of this2min clip it dont look so bad, and change will always be hard to accept. if this was as bad as dare devil then maby. we **** up the director after not before.

    The new Hollywood formula for assured success seems to be making “origin” films; i.e., movies about how popular characters got their start. (Batman Begins, Ironman, etc.). Now Star Trek. Odds are they will ***** this one up ’cause they are way past due for a huge flop.

    they better have a very good reason to trash a vintage Corvette in this movie. {I know it’s fiction}. But it makes our hero look like a punk teenager. What kid would do such a thing? There better have been a Romulan in the trunk.

    We’ll just have to wait and see. And pray that it’s not like the last X-Files movie.
