You need to read some more reviews, specifically good reviews, of this movie then. I honestly think you’re lying, and don’t know the term as well as you think. I’ve not come across many who don’t point out the obvious black comedy prevalent in the entire movie, especially in the final scene.
I’d say it was a black comedy. Why is it not?
I own the movie and I’ve read many reviews on the internet, and I’ve never seen this movie labeled as ‘black comedy’, and I know what the term means and I know of a few examples.
I can see how this movie could have that tag for some parts, but I’d classify this movie, as I’ve also read in some reviews, as a drama.

And if you obviously don’t know what a black comedy is, then stop talking. I should note that not only do many critics refer to it as such, but it’s called a savage and extreme black comedy, or something similar, on many of the dvd cases it’s sold on.

I dont think you watch alot of movies if this is the worst one you’ve ever seen. Ultraviolet ****** and all the recent parody movies are nothing but ****. This movies shows how dark a person can become.
I liked this movie. It shows how corrupt and driven a person can become.
I rented this movie 2 days ago I thought it was going to great considering the acadamy awards and daniel day lewis but it was the worst movie I hav e ever seen.

I don’t like this trailer. Why do these trailers constantly ignore the elaborate black comedy of the movie, and just highlight it as a chaotic drama?

Daniel Day Lewis is ridiculously good
“with these….people” pretty much somes up the attitude of the wealthiest 1% of this country.
anderson is a badass director.
In THERE WILL BE BLOOD, as in many of his films, Day-Lewis is once again the char-blackened engine and screaming lifeblood of the movie. Without him, writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson’s tale of a ruthless oil baron would simply be a very good movie, rather than a steel-toed boot to the groin and a good cry on the shoulder of a wild west hooker.
